Hi, pretty new to lighting cases, i'm just wondering what would be the best UV lighting to set my F1 clear/blue liquid off?

The Akasa branded UV cathodes I find are the best ones you can currently get, even though the technology in them hasn't changed in years.

I bought two of the dual cathode version years ago for a UV PC project and they work wonders. Very Bright, don't get too hot, assuming you have decent case cooling which also makes them last longer.

Only worries I find with any PC lighting cathodes are the crap thin cables to the inverter which can easily be accidently ripped. Not to mention sometimes their length can get troublesome if you want to route them out of the way. They are either too long, or just too short depending how you do it, or the design of the PC case.

Other that that, good luck with your UV modding.

Thx for the info, would one dual cathode UV do for my case? or should i get 2 (4 X 12")?

Depending on the design of your case, especially places where there is enough space for various ways to stick/mount the cathodes, one dual UV should be fine e.g. one along the bottom base/or on a bar that runs across the top and one along the side panel. If you have the spare cash, wouldn't harm to buy another set, for extra brightness or maybe as a backup.

i've decided rather than cutting the side out of my silverstone tj09 case i'll just order the windows side for it instead. I'd like to have something professionally cut out of the case but i aint got a clue where do have it done

I've just ordered 2 sets of these to replace the ACryan ones I bought earlier in the year. The ACryan ones were terrible tbh, had one tube & one inverter die on me in over the weekend.

Heard nothing but good things about the akasa ones though. If they are the same quality as the vortexx neo GPU cooler I'm sure I'll be happy

Only decent things about AC Ryan is their supply of UV braiding, heatshrinks or paints.

When it comes to the electrical hardware like lighting cathodes or LED/UV fans, I'd go with Akasa since they never failed me on those items. Although I do wish there was more selection from Akasa in terms of their fans though or availability.

I would agree that the akasa ones are good, unfortunatly i was stupid enough to break one when i was sorting out cable management so bare in mind that they are fragile (but i guess that goes for all cathodes). Used the blue ones and looked/worked great. Only thing i dont like is the switch is not on a pci bracket, like some others that i see, but you can route the switch through a pci slot and mount it at the back of your case using cable ties, which is what i did.

i would still buy your non-window one get some money back for yourself?

Keep in mind this is a brand new case, so its a brand new side and thus immaculate. i'd be interested in selling it for a fair price - I'd take £30 for it delivered. I'm paying about £45 delivered for the windowed side and i believe both the windowed and normal were the same price. Let me know.

I've got 2 X 2 12" akasa UV tubes coming tomorrrow, along with the windowed side. I'm looking forward to finishing this build. I'll throw a few shots up here when its complete :D
