I'm without internet for the next month or two and i'm looking for the best 3G dongle.

Does anyone have any input into which is the best? I'd be looking at top-up costs because I can easily go through 10GB in no time just with browsing! (yes I avoid videos!!)

Any input appreciated

have a look at samba mobile ,its a fiver for a sim or micro sim or £25 for a dongle and sim ,
topups are £2 for 200mb or £5 for 500mb but if you watch there ads its free and watching there ads do's not use your credit ,
they use 3 for the network ,
ive got 2.1gb credit on mine without paying for topups

Top ups are expensive (I have seen a 3 deal for 7GB for £25) but you say you sit there and watch their ads and you get free net??

I would get a mifi device (like the one from 3) so you connect a few devices easily and also place it for best reception. They're easy to unlock too, so you can use a sim from anyone.

Just waiting for a sim card to appear from Samba, then I'll feed back my experiences. Also you can get a 3GB 3 PAYG sim card from the rain forest for just over £12. Thats valid for 3 months from when you start using the data.

Sorry for the late reply, just thought I'd update you all.

Got my sim and put into my old Desire Z phone for Wifi hotspot duties. 3 seem to have a good signal in my area and I can achieve 8Mb+ download. I watch ad's remotely on my home machine whilst at work and use the wifi hotspot for eve online which uses very little data.

It seems most days you get 50MB-70MB data worth of ads to watch but some days this can be close to 200MB. New adverts do appear every week it seems so for a low usage user Samba is great. I can also see a great use for a temporary connection when your main broadband is down, just leave the ads running in the background whilst doing other things.
