Im looking to get a X4 640 and wanted to know what is the best suited but well priced cooler for this cpu.I don't want to do a heavy OC (eg 4+ghz) but a modest one (around 3.3-3.6ghz)
The Zalman CNPS10X looks quite good, quite a few people love the Titan Fenrir. They're both sub-£30. They should get you a very nice overclock as well.
can't sing the praises of the hyper 212 enough. for the money you can't go wrong. i've had my i5 as high as 3.4 on it (stock volts) and i was amazed at the stress temps
probably quite right mate but the op stated he only wanted a modest oc and he'll certainly get that from a hyper 212 for a tenner less. its all about saving the ££'s
Thread title said best value, just a suggestion. But yes, for a modest OC the Fenrir is more than capable. I think it's always better to overbuy on things like this if there's a chance you'll want to squeeze the system for more later on.
