Hi folks,

What's the best value mid-to-high range CPU currently available?

So far I'm considering:

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge)
Intel Core i5-3450 3.10GHz (Ivybridge)
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge)

And leaning towards the Sandybridge...any tips?

If you plan on overclocking get the cheapest between the two "K" series as they will give you equal performance. If you don't wan't to OC then buy the cheapest of the three as the 2500K/3450 will tie on performance and the 3570K will be slightly faster but its not a difference worth paying money for.

NB: If your planning on using the built in GPU then 3570K>2500K>3450

If you're not planning on overclocking a E3 Xeon 1230 V2 is an interesting option.

Quad core with 8 threads, for the same price as the i5 3570K. It comes in just short of a i7 3770K @ stock clocks + it's a 69W CPU.
