Hi all,

I purchased two 1440p 27" electriQ monitors back in November and one already has a full height dead pixel line. Lesson learned - I bought really cheap monitors and it didn't end well.

I don't want to be in the same situation again. I don't know much about monitors and so I ask the forum which models they feel/know to be the most reliable while also being reasonably priced.

I am interested in these monitors from OCUK:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £537.94 (includes shipping: £0.00)

I will be installing them on VESA mounts so not really interested in functionality of the stand. Also not interested in monitors with speakers.

They will be connecting to the PC in my sig.

Let me know what you all think. I'll keep searching the forums and doing some research in the meantime.

Cheers @dave28
My main use is for CAD, 3D modelling and 2D drawings. Outside of that it's not seeing any heavy gaming. I'd like the headroom in case I end up playing more demanding games but at the moment I think the most demanding game I expect to play would be Satisfactory.

Maybe, just maybe, Flight Sim 2020.

Both have very fast response times and are excellent for even faster paced gaming.

That LG's (first gen?) 2560x1440 Nano-IPS panel has low contrast.
So it won't tolerate lower room illumination without black starting to look bad.

AU Optronics panel in MSI again has very good contrast for IPS, which is almost 50% better than in LG.
As you'll be using VESA mount that cheapo stand without adjustments doesn't matter and don't see reason to choose LG with inferior contrast.

Fantastic thank you so much! The price of the MSI seems really good at the moment too.

Well my electriQ monitor that went back due to dead pixel line has been assessed and they decided to refund me rather than replace it. Now I need to get rid of this monitor I have and buy two matching monitors.

There's no talking me into having two mismatched monitors. I will have another look around but probably settle on two of those MSI units in my OP.

That doesn't cover even sRGB completely.
And while contrast is better than in any IPS, it no doubt has VA's "black smear" for really slow dark shade transition response time:

Only couple Samsung panels have been free of that issue of VAs.

LCD tech simply sucks.

Cheers EsaT, much appreciated. I know so little about monitors, it's a minefield for me trying to buy the right one.

Saw the G273QF go back in stock so picked up two from OCUK. Looking forward to setting them up and moving this lone electriQ monitor on. Thanks again @EsaT
