It's time to kiss my 939 goodbye, and finally join the C2D revolution.

I want to spend as little as possible with the most bang for buck.

2GB DDR2 can be had for £25, so that's fine.

CPU choices E2140 or E2200, I'm guessing the 11x multi is worth the extra tenner?

Finally, it's down to the mobo, where I am stumped.
The only quality ones I am sure of are around £70-£80, but I was wondering if there are cheaper options that would still offer me say a 3.2Ghz overclock?

All this will be with a 8800GT.

Cheers :)

Might be better for you to get a P-35 chipset. They have a good Gigabyte on on their, E2180 is a good CPU if you can afford, that overclocks well (with a good cooler)

Well, I've opted for an E2160, MSI Neo2-FR, and 2GB Corsair PC2-6400 XMS.

Should do me fine I hope :D

P31 is a pretty good chipset actually. The difference are it uses an older southbridge and doesnt take as much ram as the P35. I got a GA-P31-DS3L off a friend on the cheap and its a pretty nice board actually. Will take the 45's as well. I have my e2180 sitting at 3.2 in it.
