Sorry for posting yet another generic 'spec me' thread, I'm just looking at what options I have. I've not built a PC for a long time now, so not sure what's currently the best value, or even what's still good!

Basically I have up to £1,000 to spend, the less the better, on the best I can get (obviously).

I already have;

- Keyboard/Mouse etc
- Screen (Only 19" though, so would be nice to move up)
- Case
- Hard drives
- Windows
- Case fans
- 500W OCZ PSU (So only need to get a new one if it's not up to the task, which I think it will be.)
- Speakers

So I guess I need;

-CPU (Not bothered about AMD/Intel, whichever's better for the ££)
- CPU cooler (Will be overclocking)
-Motherboard
-RAM
-GPU
-Sata DVD RW (Nothing fancy required)
-Anything else I've forgotten

You can try with your current psu but it depends on the 12v and how many amps it has. Most new psu will have dual 12v rails over 30amps together which is what you will need. If the current psu is not going to do it then i suggest the corsair 650w to be future proof.

edit: If you buy that HSF make sure it will fit in your case. The above is suggestion only.

Oops, quite an important omission there! Mainly gaming, but also used for uni work, watching films, music, browsing the web, the usual stuff. But the best gaming performance for the cash would be great.
