Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the process to switch to Puls88 FibreOptic Broadband but my current router doesn't support VDSL2.

I'm looking for the best router I can buy for less than £150 that has the best range possible.

A few questions do I just need a wireless router or do I need a wireless modem router?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Rich

I think you are after more than a router. you want a modem router in one package.

consumer grade: Netgear Nighthawk; tp-link VR900 - both well under the budget
SOHO grade: openreach modem and ubiquiti or pfsense router. i run pfsense router with the help of my VR900 acting as wireless access point and media server. it works great and the router + modem was less than £150. the reason for me to go down this route is to have the ability to run openvpn without suffering any loss in speed. I don't think ubiquiti can even achieve that.
