I am looking to upgrade my old 2900 pro but I need a card with old fashioned component output as my old TV only supports HD over component.

I would get something like a 5770 but it doesn’t look like they have analogue VGA output.

My budget is around £100 - £150

My PC spec is:

Core i7 860
4Gb ram
2 x Kingston SSD V-now SSD in raid 0 + 2 * 500Gb HDD in raid 0 + 1 * 2TB HDD
800 Watt generic PSU

Any advice?

I'm not sure about the ATI cards, but when I bought my 8800GTS and 9800GTX+, they came with two DVI to VGA coverters/adaptors. If 5770 provide a DVI tp VGA covertor/adaptor as well, would it work for your situation do you think?

Thanks for the reply but I think we may have some crossed wires here, I was talking about component video output which uses three separate connectors for video and looks like:

I think you are talking about a 15 pin VGA connector which is the kind of connector you would have used with a monitor a few years ago that looks like:

I have a Sapphire 4890 in one machine that sports two hdmi and an s-video output, the card came with a s-video to component converter too. So yes it is possible, you just need to check. The 4890 is a little overkill if you do not plan to game.

Just checked, many of the 4xxx have this s-video output

Sorry I was actually thinking it too far (was thinking DVI convert to VGA, then VGA convert to Component). I just googled a bit...and noticed there are HDMI to Component cables as well DVI to Component cables. Would they work for you or not?
