Best video doorbell....

I have a blink doorbell which has worked well for me.
Local storage is handled via a sync2 module to access through the app so no subscription required.
Using a battery eliminator means that it's wired with no need for batteries.
Alexa compatible so we get get notifications throughout the house.

Ring here. Plus an additional indoor cam that points at my rear patio door and a separate chimer. Worked flawlessly for me for 2 years + now. Yearly sub is about the same cost as 6 pints and inconsequential over the year. App is good and easy to use. I'd never be without one now.

You mean those that have a perfectly reasonable explanations and aren't actually security issues?

The issue is the advertisment of 'no cloud' on their site, and potential incoming GDPR fines. Perhaps I worded my post wrong. They should have been way more upfront about how they process data depending on the functionality used. They'll address that now, as they were caught with their pants down. Which makes you wonder what else they're doing.

Sure but from a security of the device perspective and your actual data, its not a security issue. From a GDPR perspective its very borderline if it was even an issue as they were apparently following the rules. The only real shady bit about it was the marketing really.

I got fed up of waiting for Reolink to release a doorbell so last year i got a whole Blink kit. 2 External cameras, 1 internal camera, 1 doorbell, Sync 2 Module, 1 Solar housing and 256Gb USB key. All for about £200. I have not fitted it yet as i have been waiting for some decent weather. Once thats all up and working i will be selling off my Reolink Cameras.

Is Blink the budget Ring then? I know nothing about that eco system apart from it's Amazon as well.

I'm in the Google Home ecosystem but still waiting for them to release the wired v2 Nest doorbell. I don't understand why Ring doorbells are all so ugly (!), but actually Blink looks quite smart

I have a Ring but if I made a choice now I'd have EUFY.

I have a Reolink CCTV system and I'm waiting for them to release a battery powered doorbell.

I wish they would hurry up with the doorbell (Reolink) as am wanting to offload the Ring, before the price increase next month for me.

Am sure there has been a slight price increase since adding my interest last year.

I'm leaning towards the Eufy system purley because there is no ongoing cost - the thing that is putting me off a bit is the lack of any security in terms of stopping someone just taking it off the wall - does anyone have one and can conform if it is easy to just detach and steal?

You need to stick a pin in a hole underneath, plus they would be captured in the act on video.

None of them are great, Ring/Amazon probably the least likely to steal your data and also have more support etc. Think they're usually on offer around black Friday etc.
