Best video doorbell....

I just watched a long video about the Eufy app and it brought to mind two questions.. (about all video doorbells, actually)
  • I'm assuming all video doorbells let you turn off motion notifications during the night? I've never seen evidence of this on any make
  • Are these apps easy to share with your other half in the house? Do you just share your account credentials and both login to the app? Or are any of them clever and give you each an account or something? (dunno)
Also, how big are the Eufy's? Couldn't see it on their website...

Just got a blink with sync module and a mini (mainly to use as a chime). £78 for those 3 items seems reasonable.

Main frustration is how it seems they've gone out of their way to hobble the app experience if you're not paying for a subscription. I guess it's a predictable business model to have but unless you cancel the 30 day free trial you'd be unlikely to notice until after the free return period.

Ignoring that it probably does what I want - long battery life, local storage, well supported brand, ~cheap, and the mini won't just be used as a chime.

Is anyone able to recommend and wireless battery doorbell with a chime for the hall (Mrs hates tech)
without a subscription if poss, cheep and cheerful really. mainly to alert me if there's someone at the door if I'm in the garden and the MRS is on a call and cant answer it.

1) Ring certainly does. You can set multiple schedules. I have a ten minute off period for when my wife goes out on a Sunday morning in case I’m still in bed. I would assume most have similar.
2) Ring allows you to invite people. You don’t share login credentials, they create their own.

Like Feek said the Ring can be programmed, it will still record through the night but won't notify you.
One of my daughters is back home and is annoyed the Ring chime goes off when she leaves for work so I've just programmed it to not notify between 6.45 to 7am so she can leave quietly.

Thanks. I’m assuming others do similar. I guess if not then the fact I have my phone on DND will stop the alerts there. Does your doorbell (physical) chime go off for movement? Guessing it’s only if someone rings the bell?

With Ring, you can set the physical chime to go off with movement, doorbell press or both.

For my Google doorbell it chines for a button push. But I have notifications for events that come down my path.

You can draw boxes on the screen. And have specific areas do different things.

For Example. With my Google Security cams (Same tech as doorbell) the camera. Records people going past. But it will record people In the front garden AND notify me of people in the front garden.

It will also record animals in the back garden. (important as I have chickens and want to know if a fox has visited! :D)

It even has facial recognition. So If postie comes round it will tell me (obviously I've had to match the face to postie)

Can the wired one be Wi-Fi connected if needed as well?

If you mean the POE version it will not work via WI-FI

Thank you. Yea only have the 2 wires for power so Wi-Fi version it has to be.
Have anyone seen the p2p notification thing mentioned in the comments? Any concerns for that?

I currently have a Ring doorbell hard wired, so the swap over should be fine + have a Reolink Argus PT on 5ghz out front, that works fine for me.

Reolink doorbell back in stock. I think I'll get the poe version
Are the reolinks any good? Their CCTV takes a few seconds to buffer on my setup. It doesn't bother me as I'll present the cameras through BlueIris eventually.

Also I did go to buy one of these and realised I hate humans demanding my attention (phone on silent, WhatsApps mostly muted). This is definitely another thing I'll just mute.
