Hi, I've just been bought a Creative Zen and thought I'd ask for some advice before I start converting my videos onto it.

I've done some encoding before for my mate's PSP using PSP Video 9 to convert VOB's into MP4 but I wondered if there was better formats available to use instead like DivX.

Should I stick with PSP Video 9 (if it even works with a Zen) or have a look at say Dr. DivX software?

What kind of bitrates do you guys use? (512kb video and 80kb audio gave decent results for the lad's PSP).

Any comments advice greatly appreciated :)

Thanks,

Karl

P.S. Happy new year everyone!

Mpeg4 AVC is the best video format currently avalible and ogg vorbis the best audio format. 384Kb/s is probably suitable for the zen as the screen is only 2.5" @ 320x240. Make sure you use 2 pass vbr as it gives much better results. Constant quality mode is also a great encoding option.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go with PV9 and see what happens. 384kb/s should give a decent file size too.
