Hi all just interested in oppions on sub £250 pounds tft monitors 19 inch now i know your not going to get mva pannels in this price range but theres so many 19 inch monitors out there some seem to have better viewing angles out there then others.

so whats good for gaming while remaing ok for dvd and still have decent viewing angles

Well, the only thing that's mac about it is the styling, but yeah I've heard it has backlight bleed, and it's not gonna match with many PCs.

Other than that though, all the sub £250 19" TFTs are TN Film panels, and they all have restricted viewing angles. There probably isn't a lot between them, but generally the quicker ones seem to have the worst viewing angles. Maybe something from a previous generation like the Neovo 12 ms would have better viewing angles than the newer faster stuff.

Check out the monitor reviews on BeHardware - they take photos of the screens from various angles to show you how the viewing angles compare, and I know they've reviewed plenty of the current TN screens.

yeah ive been looking at plenty of reviews just undecided so many tfts out there now even with tn panels there can be quite a difference on viewing angles i think a 8ms would be my best option just cant decided on best screen for the cash

i think for the price range you're going to have to settle for a TN panel. The slower generation were sometimes a little less restrictive in viewing angles, but are pretty hard to get now anyway. The Dell 1905FP (8ms) and Belinea 101920 are using P-MVA panels and are pretty well price, but not <£250

are the dells being shipped from ocuk more than likely 8ms then. i've been thinking about this monitor but would'nt like to get the 20ms one

a lot of people have bought them over the last few months from OcUK and received the 8ms AUO version. It's still a gamble, and there's no way to check, but a lot of people have been lucky :)

ta baddass. you said on your site they started making/shipping the 8ms version in 2005. do you reckon they no longer make the 20ms version and any that are around are the last of this stock?

there are still some being shipped it seems but i would imagine that the 20ms PVA panel is a lot harder to get hold of than the 8ms P-MVA panel. Having said that, AUO changed the panel slightly when they changed the Viewsonic VP930 as well, so it really could be hit and miss right now :(
