Best VNC viewer

i use the 'real vnc' viewer, and tightvnc as the server

rarely use it now though, remote desktop over hamachi is what i use

I'd use Ultra, But for my remote acces work i've not been able to get there server to install remotely..

So i'm stuck with TightVNC with a script to install and remote from computers as and when i need it. a poormans Dameware....

Ultra, but I would use logmein.com instead nowadays...
Dont like logmein for my homepc. Like to have the option to sit in view only mode :)

Dont like remote desktop as it locks the remote machine

you can use an older termserv.dll which allows the local user to carry on working logged in and the TS user (as long as its a different username) can work on the pc aswell, very handy

Does that work on vista though?

Ideally would just like to connect to the local session as per vnc

Try out echoVNC Needs a remote machine running the echoserver (this can be your home machine, as long as it is accessible over the internet) - but the demo one it logs into gives 5-10 mins access before you have to re-log in

The VNC flavour is ultra, so you get all the natty file transfer stuff etc. - works a treat, I use it all the time to log into work (as they refuse to open up any ports to allow terminal server access)
