Im looking to get the mercedes benz of waterblocks, well the one that people highly recommend and cant fault, and looks are very very important too :D so any insight is appreciated

There is absolutely beggar-all between the top 4 or 5 blocks the moment.

Get the most recent model from D-Tek, XSPC, AquaComputer (my own favourite is the XT di - made in Germany, looks the dogs), EK or Swiftech and you won't be unhappy with it.

All are good, all perform well and look the part, so you're likely to get several votes for each as 'the best'. In truth almost no-one has compared them all so what you are getting is everyone's personal preference.

What it basically comes down to is your personal preference

Well i really like the look of this one--

I did do a water build for my brother for his birthday present but now im doing it for myself i want to be really choosy because of having a side window id like it to look awesome but be as functional as possible whilst still holding the coolness of the swish looks :p

I have the Swiftech Apogee GTZ great looks and great temps...well rated in reviews to... although it is the first CPU water cooling block I have ever used!

oh and it has a very easy and very good rear mounting plate and screws that ensure the pressure on the block is just right. Dont know about the AC block mounting solution though

You need to pay about £4 for a backplate for the AquaComputer block as they don't supply one with it. The screws on the GTX and GTZ are infamous for stripping - so watch that. They are cheap to replace, but it's a pain when it won't do up right.

And just look at the AquaComputer block! It's a jewel. And it works pretty well too. It's maybe not as good as the GTZ, but it's there or there abouts - maybe 1-2C worse.

I am VERY happy with my EK Supreme although you should buy the extra rear back plate but.....

[Drooling] LOOK AT THAT AQUA!!!

Now, if I was in the market then that would be the Pagani Zonda to my Mercedes!

Aqua does look nice. But so does my copper top GTX.

You had to mention the GTX:mad::rolleyes::D In that order!

With the copper top, it's a great block, and a very good looking one, but every time I stop someone buying Swiftech I pay them back just a little bit more for the mess they made of my system. It's a mission;)

hee hee.

You need to let go, mate. You gotta move on or it'll eat you up.

I think I've gone a bit too far to stop now. There's the £3500 I spent on the metallurgists reports, the £1800 spent so far with a very nice solicitor in Los Angeles and my upcoming splurge on advertising for co-suitors. I might forgive, but I don't forget. I'm hopeful/quietly confident of getting all this money back, of course. Plus a new block, 360mm radiator and MCP655 pump, all of which were damaged in the original corrosion incident.

All hail Walter, personal crusade representing disgruntled water coolers everywhere.;)

I admire your tenacity m8.
