Hi guys, recently swapped over to Plex for my Home Media needs. All great apart from there is no app for the WD Live Box. What would be the next choice for me? I want to be able to use a remote as well!

Chromecast does plex,But i havn't really had time to try it out.

I use a nas with plex installed then browse the nas via my TV.

You can get Plex on the Chromecast, probably the cheapest option for about £30!

As for the remote, not sure if a TV remote works on Chrome but I just have the Plex app installed on my iPhone and iPad.

Apparently you can sideload it onto the NowTV box which only costs a tenner. I believe you'd be limited to 720p with it though.

Did you know that if you enable DNLA on your Plex, you can use the DNLA interface on the WD Live box?

I have NowTV boxes all round my house now, £10ea and run plex perfectly well. Very nice little devices :)

If you've got Apple devices the ATV3 combined with "Plex Connect" works perfectly for me.

Can pick up ATV3's for £50/£60 second hand. There's nothing to go wrong with them and all 3 of mine are second hand.

Yes, what WDTV Live have you got? The last one (Live Streaming) can access a Plex server fine. Just change the content source to network and choose Media Server. Then if DLNA is turned on you'll see everything stored in your Plex library on the WDTV. It's how i watch stuff now, just leave it on my laptop and watch it through the WDTV Live. I did sideload the Plex app onto the Now TV box but it's faster on the WDTV and that's hardwired ethernet to the router so there are no drop outs. I find the Now TV wireless signal a bit erratic.

I have a first generation WDTV Live (ie the first generation with Ethernet connection and it connects just fine to my Plex server so aI'd have thought that any of the Live versions should be fine to do so.
