Hi all.

At the moment I play all my music from my PC but most of the quality is very poor. I'm about to buy a squeezebox so I want the best quality music possible.
I have been reading about FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) and I would like to start ripping my CDs to that format.

What is the easiest way to do this?

I have tried EAC (Exact Audio Copy) but I'm finding it very hard to understand and use. During the setup I chose FLAC but it seems to be copying my CDs as WAV instead...
Is there an easier program or can anyone please point me to a good guide on how to use EAC because it doesn't have any documentation.

P.S) I use Foobar2000 to listen to music.

Thanks.

I managed to get it working in the end. I think it copies then as WAV then converts them to FLAC. Eitherway it's done it's job so I am happy. :)

I decided to try dBpoweramp afterall as EAC was taking a very long time and didn't have any of the tracks artist names, etc.
dBpoweramp is much easier to install and configure, quicker and it's ripped all my music CDs with their names. :)

i just used windows media player......its probably not the best tool but very easy to use and no additional software needs to be installed.

You just lookup the cd on freedb first. You can set it to do it automatically. Doesn't really matter now if you're happy with dBpoweramp though :)
