Best way to backup the SSD in my MacBook Pro

Just sold the 256GB SSD in my 13" 2010 MacBook Pro (Lion) in order to fund a new 512GB SSD

But I won't have the new SSD until Friday

Is there a easy way to backup everything on the current SSD to a external hard drive or my NAS and just restore it back on to the new SSD when I Get it?

Sorry I'm a bit thick and never had reason to do any sort of a system backup on Mac :confused:

Utilities - Disk Utility - (Select Drive) New Image

Then just select where to save too and let it do it's thing. Can take a while so watch the footy then come back to it

I used Carbon Copy Cloner when I moved from HDD to SSD. Its free, lots of features and simple to use.

Just an update,

Used Carbon Copy Cloner and set up my MacBook Pro to clone from internal 256GB SSD to 512GB SSD attached to USB port in an external HD enclosure and it worked perfectly
