best way to capture fireworks?

Hi people,

whats the best technique to capture fireworks, with November the 4th coming up i've got about a month to practice. And i'm going to go to every fireworks display possible!

Ive got a 350D - any advise greatly appreciated.

Ah right, so just a case of messing around with shutter speeds? cool. Hmm wonder if I can get hold of a few fireworks early and maybe practice a few shots...
