i have been building a computer with parts that i have required whilst upgrading other peoples computers. i have taken the cpu cooler off the board and the ive noticed that the cpu has got bits of thermal paste stuck all over the core and the parts around the core are dried on solid. what would be the best way to remove this thermal paste? i thought id ask first as i dont want to damage the core.

Isopropyl Alcohol from the local chemist. If you live near Dresden then go to that swimming pool place by Bargain Booze, I got mine from there, 500ml for around £3-4.
Dip the cpu in battery acid would be madness

I use these Screen Cleaning Wipes from Fellowes their Alcohole free and seem to work a treat.
