best way to clean a TFT (no streaks)

whats the best method of cleaning a TFT and leaving no streaks, with things you'd find around the house? ie. not having to go out and buy special stuff.

what methods do you guys find best?

A slightly damp microfibre cloth has always worked best for me. I've tried loads of cleaning fluid and all have left streaks or taken ages to get off.

Agreed. Cleaning fluids are no match for water and a soft cloth.

I've found if you clean in one direction towards the middle it tends to avoid streaks

You can buy rolls of LCD/TFT cleaning material, and that does a very good job of leaving the screen free of streaks. About £6 delivered.

the best thing ive ever used was a cloth that came with my themaltake case, that and one of them pledge fluffy duster things have kept my last 2 monitors spic n span the biggest problem ive found with tft screens is people poking the screen with greasy/dirty fingers. definitely never use bog or kitchen roll, it can leave tiny marks on the screen even with the use of specialist cleaning agents
