My monitor is filthy I wont use anything like water as it will just make it worse. Anything i can buy with is decent and will clean it thoroughly.

I picked up a Strand branded spray cleaner for about £6 (250ml bottle) from a highstreet retailer a few months ago. I was a bit worried about using it so I tried it on an old laptop first but it worked very well and didn't streak or leave residue.

I sprayed it onto kitchen paper and used that to wipe the screen and then, once it had dried fully, I gave it a quick polish with a clean microfibre cloth.

Used it on my Samsung monitor and two laptops without any problems :).

I posed this very question a few months ago and the answer is simple and cheap.

Go to the supermarket and buy a microfibre cloth. They are less than two pounds. Wet part of the cloth and wipe it over the screen gently it will pick up everything. Then just gently dry it down with the dry part of the cloth.

These microfibre cloths are very impressive. :)

Tried that it leaves streaks on the screen. A microfiber cloth alone is not good for the job.

A Microfibre Cloth soak with warm water sqeeze out and wipe screen, Microfibre Cloth's do not scratch, l bought 2 for 50p still using the 1st one after 2yrs.;)

PS - streak free.
