My HIS IceQ 7950 boost seems to be running a little hotter recently. I am getting temps of close to 80c when playing BF4. Idle temps are around 32c. This is with an overclock of 1100 /1500 on custom non-boost bios. Temps are pretty much the same when running at stock speeds in BF4.

My case is a Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced and removing the side panel makes little difference to temperatures.

I noticed that the card looks pretty dusty inside the fan etc and was wondering what is the safest and most comprehensive way to give it a good clean?

If you're feeling brave then you can remove the cooler, get rid of all the cheap chinese stock gunk and add something decent. You can drop the temps on your card by 10-20 doing that.

Agreed If it were me and it was out of warranty I'd be tempted to take it apart and really get in there but if not a can of compressed air will do the job, I got some the other day from Wilkinson who much to my surprise seem to sell everything.

Take it apart and clean thoroughly with compressed air. Repaste as said above. You'll be surprised how easy it is when you do it. The only slight pain is some cards have torx screws so you will need a mini torx screwdriver set. Most don't though.

Easy - hair dryer and make-up brush
Harder - Remove the entire fan casing and clean it carefully. You could also then clean your TIM off using Arctic Clean 1+2 and reapply. This will take a bit of time though
