I really need something to clean the screen of my toshiba lcd? It's covered in smeer marks from when I used A screen cleaner on it...now its everywhere. :(

Best way is water and a tiny amount of mild detergent and two lint-free cloths.

Put one cloth in your mix, wring out the cloth until it's just damp, wipe screen, then wipe again with a dry cloth.

Don't use alcohol based cleaners, they can stuff up the coating on the screen.

I have a non alcohol based cleaner and cloth to do the job. dirty hand prints from the kids disappear in seconds and no smears on screen either, so there are some good ones out there

I was having the same problem as you jonas000, it didn't matter what super-duper so called screen cleaner/wipes I used, they always caused smears. The worst wipes I used were made by that scart cable specialist Ixos, they were so dry and had the texture of tracing paper! I've started to do what Khrall suggests, using a lint free cloth (bought from any camera shop) wet part of it, wipe, then use the dry part to polish :)

I've used a cloth with some highly diluted vinegar (1/20 parts water or something) -> worked great for me.

No idea what is the best way to do it, I'd probably have used a proper screen cleaner if I had one.
