Cotton buds maybe?

Tricky, looks like a dirty fingerprint , with bits of muck on it.

A wet clean ,is the only way, id try and dab it head on a few times, using different swabs each time.

By wet clean what are you referring to? Some kind of special solution?

Not a sodding clue!

Just went to change a lens this afternoon and noticed it, couldve been there for months and its not showing in images but the OCD is in overdrive now that Ive seen it. I'll take a drive to Harrisons in Sheffield tomorrow and see what they have in store.

Pec/sensor swabs and cleaning solution.

There are a few different combinations out there.

Pec pads with the plastic swabs to wrap them over. Eclipse sensor cleaning fluid. Has always worked perfectly for myself.

Dry Sensor Cleaning Kit will do it. Have a look via Google. Think they sell them on the bay?

Can you not get it professionally cleaned better to get someone who knows whst they are doing instead of making it worse

I could but its only a Panasonic G3 and as much as I love it I can get a decent used one for around £75 so spending a chunk on getting it professionally cleaned doesn't seem economical.
Had a chat to the guys at Harrisons yesterday who suggested one of the SensorKlear pens which they have used in the past successfully so I've ordered one an will see how I go!

Small shop but good to deal with. They are based in Milton Keynes but you can send the camera if it's too far. If you are near the area he can turn it around in a couple of hours.

Recently had my D800 sensor cleaned. Did a great job and only cost £30.

This is the best advice, while the cotton buds and alcohol approach may work even with a 75 quid camera I'd rather be safe than sorry!
