whats the best way to do this using smart fan in my bios, using a third party app like speedfan or doing it manually from a controller.

just after some views and opinions any comments welcome

I've got mine set up on a fan controller in a drive bay. Definitely the easiest way to do it. I've used speedfan in the past & find it annoying as it never seemed to keep the speeds after a reboot. Its a lot quicker & simpler with a hardware controller. Using the BIOS to change it would never spin at full speed either (don't know how your BIOS controls it) so my temps are a LOT better now too.

The only thing that annoyed me with the controller is because the CPU fan header wasn't in use on the MOBO I had a message everytime I turned on my PC saying CPU FAN ERROR & I had to press F1 to boot past it. I just plugged the NB fan from my mobo into it & fooled it.
