Best way to control fan speeds?

Ideally I'd want something that you could set in steps to automatically adjust fan speeds depending on temps.

e.g. 60C = 70%, 80C = 100%, etc.

But a 2D = low speed/3D = high setting would work.

I know there's RivaTuner, but it's a bit of a pain getting it to work properly with newer driver, and there's far more options than I need.

Anything else I could try? :)

Ahh, ok, was hoping youd say ATI so I could answer you, lol
Well in ATIs CCC you can create specific custom profiles which you switch between (gaming, desktop, whatever you want really) and in these you can control fan speed and clock speed (2D and 3D and whether or not the card declocks itself - powerplay) and even voltage if you know what youre doing, I expect NVidia has something similar?

If you set auto fan speed control to 3 then apply and i think you have to restart the prog then you should be able to access the controls you need - i have mine set like
min=33
max=100
tmin=52
trange=26
toperating=111
tlowlimit=0
thighlimit=111

on my gtx285

Just noticed you said you don't really fancy rivatuner but why dont you simply not use the options you don't need?.

Also did you try to force the driver version like i have done using the 185.85?, it works fine for auto fan control.
