Best way to convert divx to DVD

Whats the best program to convert Divx (not avi) to DVD. I usually use nero Vision to covert files but it doesnt convert divx (but it does Avi :confused:

). Arent they the same file?

DivX is a codec, AVI is a container format. You can get an AVI file containing DivX video or DivX video inside another container format. I think Nero Vision should work, if you mean you have a video that has a .divx file extension just try renaming it to .avi.

as long as youve got the divx encoder installed i dont see why it wouldnt work

He wants to know what's best. Winavi is bad quality. Something that takes about 6 hours is better. Canopus Procoder 2 or Cinema Craft!

They aren't free, see my thread about mediacoder which is free and based on a bundle of encoder/decoder technologies, sourceforge link in the thread ;p

Use Canopus Procoder 2 with it & you wont see any loss in quality

I have always used Cyberlinks PowerProducer or PowerDirector (I think there called) to convert different formats to dvd.

Hi there this is true ,its not free ,but i use a program called Covertxtodvd its very good ,will put menus on abd a background you choose,it converts avi to dvd ,i have used it ,and they play on my dvd player no trouble
