Best way to fix broken door latch thing?

Being the huge unit that i am, i've managed to break our bedroom door meaning we can no longer lock it or properly shut it meaning the cats can just push it open.

Can anyone suggest the best way to fix this? I tried glueing the bit which came off back on by there wasn't really enough surface for it to hold very well. I'm a bit wary of pulling that section off the wall entirely and replacing it as i'm not sure what damage it'll end up doing to the rest of the wall.

Any ideas from people who are less DIY illiterate than i am?

Looks like the keep is broken but i dont think you can buy them on there own. Just unscrew it from the door frame and fix a new one.

Hammer it flat and self tap / gripfill / mitre mate a piece of flat bar

Cut carefully around it and clean the paint off those screw heads. Unscrew it and replace it with a new/reclaimed one.

You can just buy replacement Rimlock Keep about £4 for a steel one, you can also get cast iron victorian reproductions, look on the bay, or google.

Replacement keep should be no problem to source, chisel away at the paint until you find screwheads.
