I have been trying to get the colour setting set right on my backbook and been finding it quite hard...

Any tips or better software to do it?

I take it that you have been using Display settings under System Preferences. If so there are several predefined screen settings or there is an option to calibrate it to your own taste, just follow the instructions.

I have been playing in there.. I am trying to get the screen set as natruel as i can as i am going to go into photgraphic in the next couple of weeks...

What setting your using? or have you predfined your own?

Ask in the photography forum as some of the guys there may be able to give better advice on that sort of thing.

If you are getting into Photography in a major way, and especially if you are going to send photos out to print, then you should really invest in a calibration device. I don't remember my MacBook being a million miles away out of the box though, just far too bright (as with all of the macs).

So it is with any mass-marketed machine. A brighter screen makes it more attractive to people walking through retail stores because the screen looks better at first glance.

Yep, I wasn't singling out the Macs, just saying that was the only major adjustment it seemed I needed to do. I'm pretty sure I got a sun tan when I first turned on the 24" iMac it was set that bright :)

Hmmmm

Been playing with the built in setting of the Mac and just cant work out how it should look. Seem very tricky to me on getting the colours right
