Best way to kill Grass ?

thx, yeah tried some old engine oil in the far back and yeah seems to have killed off a lot, but the mum is worried one of the neighbours will flick a match or cigg butt !

Otherwise id go for the engine oil...

Am trying to kill the grass pretty much 100% since my gardens massive and cutting the grass is always very hard work + my hayfever goes nutz.

I think if I digg it up so its more flat and just soil and then put Rock salt on top everywhere and just lay some thick black plastics like guage Visqueen and peg it down
I think ill be good and its cheap and simple.

Perhaps my eyes are missing it but I dont see Kwerk's answer ? lol

yeah next door neighbour suggested this, but always a risk of a cig butt coming over... so wont chance it.

Think ill just digg up the grass, have nothing but soil and then throw the rock salt over it and then the black plastic weed covers and some pegs to keep it down, at least for now ill start with a small patch and see how it goes :)

Why go to all that trouble, like I and others have already said just use Roundup, it's designed to kill all plants. Give it a couple of weeks and I guarantee it'll kill everything you've sprayed.

So I should get roundup and spray on the grass every now and then ?

But surely grass being grass it will just grow back again after a few weeks or months, id rather not be spraying on it + it will cost a bit to keep it up ?

I have used some weed killer sprays in the past just on the sides and few patches and yeah it killed it but without doing it weekly it just grew back up quickly, that is my main worry.

reason why I wanna get rid of it is since my gardens quite big and I dont like to mow it so much + my hayfever flares up badly. The less grass or no grass the better for my health really.
