best way to learn programming?

just downloaded VB.net and c#.net express, opened them up and it was a case of WTF, anyone know of any decent sites or books for a total nubler wanting to learn how to code?

Microsoft do some tutorial videos for you, which has around 10 lessons on them

They are rather good and i suggest you use those first. Take notes as you are lsistening and watching
