Best way to mod ufo extraterrestrials

There seems to be a lot of mods going around for this game, so I was wondering if anyone knows a good collection of mods that add a lot to the game. Most of the info that I've googled seems to be quite old, but a lot of it points to bman's ease of use mod, but are there others to go along side this?

I'm using the original version not the gold edition, if that makes any difference.

Bman's is the best afaik. Coasty's version is the most up-to-date:

Bman's has problems with the gold edition so you're better off with the original.
