Hi, i am planning to mod my old soltek sff case to take a shuttle motherboard, but the one problem i have is attaching the standoffs to the bottom of the case. the old ones were punched in at the factory and i have since drilled them out as they didnt match up with the new board. What would be the best way to mount new ones - I was thinking of drilling holes and welding/soldering them into place. As the metal is only 1mm thick i dont think ill be able to thread the holes and screw standoffs in. Please let me know what you all think - Cheers. :)

i was going to try that but i can find any nuts that fit the end of the standoff, do you know where i can get some that fit ?. I have tried everywhere i can think of. cheers

I have some in my garage. No idea what size they are though. I think standoffs (at least the ones i have) are unc6, which I found is almost impossible to get a tap for. The nuts I used were metric ones, but very close and did the job fine.
