hey guys kinda a weird question which i think i know the answer to already, just looking for confirmation more than anything.

i have a Asus HD 7970 Matrix Platinum that requires 2x 8pin power connections.

and i have a corsair AX860,
now the PSU comes with 2x 6+2pin cables (1x 8pin per cable)
and 2x 6+2pin dual connectors (2x 8 pin per cable)

i noticed that the dual connectors do use 8pins going into the PSU were as the single connectors have 6 from psu and then the extra 2 pins comes out of the 6pin.

so my question is, does it matter at all which i use is one in anyway better than the other?

If I understand you correctly I would hook your card up with the 1x8pin/cable as then you are using two different rail outputs from the PSU and see theoretically greater current stability.

Your PSU is single-rail so it makes no odds which connector you use.

That is 12v @ 71.6A. Unless you are pushing that figure, stability will not be an issue. Just use whichever connectors fit in the card!
