Probably the most interesting thread you'll read all day!

The 3.5mm jack in my headphone jack has become blocked and my headphones no longer "click" into place. It sort of softly squidges into place. My phone doesn't detect headphones and keeps playing sound through it's terrible speakers. Any ideas how to unblock the jack?

Now, am I am a semi-functional adult so I have tried using a sewing pin to dig the fluff out which has worked all the times in the past. I even Googled it and tried a few cotten bud methods. No joy, my headphone connector still squidges into place and isn't detected.

Any good ideas how to dig fluff out? Mummification equipment? Do you think the headphone jack could be broken (I wouldn't be upset by this as I use my phone a lot and it is not very good so I would probably get a new one.)

Toothpicks tend to serve me well. Or cocktail sticks.

So long as it's made of wood.

In the past I've found a sim ejector tool really useful for getting fluff out of the usb-c port. Not sure if it'll work as well in the jack.

The reason you are struggling to dig it out is probably because you have compressed it all by pushing the jack in on top of it.
I would persevere with whatever small pointy object you have that will fit in the hole, as others have said, paperclip or toothpick/cocktail stick

I'd use a paperclip. If you make a tiny curl in the end you might have a better chance of it catching something. I always use one in my phone's charging port and it's never damaged it.
