My brother has bought an amp, wire kit and a sub but we are a bit stumped on how to bring the power cable through to the inside of the car. I saw a video on Youtube and it showed a way to drill a hole next to the steering column, but on his Focus there is a piece of plastic pipe blocking access and there is no budging it.
The other way seems to be removing the wheel arch liners and feeding it through the wings, but you then see the wire when you open the door and it just seems like there must be an easier way.
If not he will just have to pay for it to be installed by a pro, but we really wanted to have a go ourselves. How much would it cost roughly? Or would a mechanic just pop a hole somewhere safe and feed the power cable through, so we can then do the install?
