Hi first off all i hope i have placed this in the right place, i was unsure if it should be here or MB but i think this is right if i wrong sorry mods can you move it for me.
OK down to my issue i have an older Asus Z87 Deluxe Motherboard with an older bios of 2004 but i don't thnk that is relevant here, my monitor is a BenQ BL3200PT, also my TV is a Sony 46EX723.
TV has 4 x HDMI sockets and a VGA socket for PC input, so up until now i have had a 15m (distance between PC and TV) HDMI cable going from MB to the back of the TV, and i been running the monitor by using a "StarTech DP2DVIS DisplayPort to DVI Active Adapter" which i think is the normal size not the mini, but i'm not 100% sure as i have not pulled it all out yet as she has 8 or 9 drives in and she weighs a ton, but i'm running out of HDMI sockets on the TV and need to route the PC signal into the TV via the PC/VGA socket and hence free up anothe TV HDMI socket, but while doing this i want to find the best way to run the monitor from the sockets on my MB.
I'm in a real pickle here, Any advice on the best way to sort this would be welcome, on sorting out both the TV issue, ie; need to supply PC's image on the TV) which i need to do via vga, MB has no VGA but monitor does and also best way to run the monitor from the PC, not a gamer so anything good enough will do does not have to be superduper.
If you need any more info just ask.
