Best way to simulate a room layout to the wife?? SIMS3??

I need a way of showing SWMBO some ideas on the layout of our house and I'm wondering if the SIMS game would give me that capability. I've never played it but I need a way of showing her a new lounge/kitchen/diner in 3D as her visualisation skills are virtually non existent.

I blame my mate for this as he oh so cleverly suggested that we should move our kitchen into where our lounge is and now herself is seriously considering it. Without of course also considering what the practicalities are!!

Any helpful advice would be welcome.

Especially Neodude who pointed me in the direction of floorplanner which works a treat, and is really simple. Sketchup is a little more complicated but also looks good, but I didn't try any of the other ones as herself is happy with my attempts so far.

This could get expensive!! :eek:
