“Best” way to switch from Virgin to Plusnet?

I’ve been with Virgin since the Telewest days as it’s always been our only choice for high speed broadband but Openreach went live in my area a few weeks ago and I intend on switching when my contract expires in September.

I’m just looking for some general advice on making the switch including your thoughts on 12m vs 24m contracts and when I should actually place my order with Plusnet (or whoever). I’ve heard people sometimes have nightmare installations that take months to complete so I’m wondering if I should just swallow the extra cost and place my order a month or two before my Virgin contract ends to give me some headroom for the installation.

Any advice would be most welcome, thanks.

I think is a good idea to have month overlap ( with both services live)
when going with a new install to ensure everything is working before terminating your existing service.
I think plusnet only do 24mont contracts, so factor in the mid contract prices rise to work out the overall per month cost.

They do 12m, they just dont make it very obvious thats a drop down menu to choose between 12 and 24.

Also go through a cashback site properly get £100

I did see that but I was wondering if you still get the £100 Reward card from plusnet as well as the cashback (I’m guessing probably not).
