Greetings all,

I've been given two laptops

1 - Win XP

2 - Win 7

And have been asked if i can backup/clone the XP laptop to the win7 but apart from just using a usb drive to copy files etc im not sure how to proceed.

I was thinking of using a clone program but not sure what to use as i don't want to copy the OS.

Can anyone help

Microsoft do a migration tool - windows easy transfer. I've heard of issues with it though, so everytime I've needed to do the same I Just do it manually. Big external HDD and move things across. Is there software that needs to move as well?

at the moment just anti virus looks quite minimal , pictures n whatnot

If they use outlook it is possible to move the pst file properly if you do it right, if it's just normal files then just copy them over.
