I have owned a PC for a number of years and have used many different web broswers currently using IE7.

Can anyone tell me which is the best?

Personally I like IE7 the best. I tried FF, but I couldn't get on with it at all, it just seemed like everything was "overcomplicated".

Go with what feels comfortable to you though - there is no "best" browser.

firefox
with these addons are a must..

adblock plus (blocks all ads (i don't mean just popups, you'd be suprised how crap the web looks when you remove this after using it for a week!)
customizegoogle (searches google as you type, kind of like an all knowing autocomplete for google)
UITweaker (for removing right click menu options -the kind of options that all browsers have that you never use, like 'send like to email')

gmail notifier (if you have gmail), integrates perfectly into firefox

I use Opera.

What I like about it: uses a lot less memory than the other 2.

Keyboard shortcuts, search shortcuts, gets my rss feeds built-in, the speed dial as my start page, IRC client built-in. Probably plenty more i'm forgetting like ad-blocking - I don't even remember what popups are like. The wand for remembering sign-in information on sites.

Thanks. I shall quote this. I just find Opera to be on another level browser wise. :)

I use opera.

It has the mouse short cuits so you can go back and forward pages with the click of the mouse which is good if you are lazy:D

Plus its good on memory :)

Firefox. I have found it to be more secure than IE (although I haven't used IE for a while, so it might be more secure now). It also has loads of very useful plugins, including an OcUK addon which is awsome :)
It's also quick and I find easy to use.
