Morning Guys!

Just wondering what everyone has down as their favorite webmail provider?

I've just got a laptop and want to be able to view emails on both of them. Up until now I've been using a gmail account with outlook using pop, but the only (practible) way to synchronise all of my mail folders would be to have a server running somewhere in the house, which, just for the sake of synchronising folders, is a waste of electricity.

So i'm looking for a web-based email service. The gmail web interface, if i'm being honest, isnt that nice as you cant create additional folders, although its filtering features are pretty good. I've also got a hotmail account that i've been experimenting with on the Live Mail Beta which is nice as it works a lot like outlook. Plus you've got the added bonus of the extra features in MSN messenger.

Anyone got any other views or has a preference over these two?

Cheers

i have a hotmail, gmail and a yahoo account. i prefer the hotmail one probably cos ive always used it and loads of my mates already know the address.

Get your own domain and use IMAP?

This means your mail is stored on the server, and gets pulled down when you use different computers.

It depends on the person. I prefer to keep everything in separate folders, not in the same folder just folder and filtered.
why? what difference does it make in any way?

That's something I've been wanting to do for a long time. For over a year now I've been running a server at home with a POP3 inbox. However I've yet to discover free software for Windows that will let me run an IMAP service. And please... don't say the L word :p

Definately if you can get your own domain and an IMAP server that would be the best option IMO. And of course you could also access it via the web with something like Squirrel Mail/Horde IMP/Telaen

Hope this helps, null :)

I have 2 gmail and a yahoo account. One gmail is for posting on newsgroups via google groups and the other is for keeping in touch with mates (love the way it groups 'conversations'). The yahoo one I use for putting into forms on websites
