Hey guys,

Right now i have a netgear dg834g wireless router. I have it with one ethernet connection going to my sky box. With xp, vista, and windows 7 computers connected over wifi (and a load of other devices).

Ive always had to reset my router for it to even begin to connect. And thats really annoying.

So i think its time for a new router. Since it does say that my one is not compatible with seven.

So now if anyone has any good suggestions of a new router then it would be greatly appreciate. I dont have big internet speeds so i dont need a particually high speed router, just a good one. And hopefully one thats not too expensive.

Thanks.

The router would work fine with Windows 7, it is probably on its way out, which is why it won't connect. I would first try to put the latest firmware on the router as it could be old and fix the issue.

If you go into the router status (usually http://192.168.0.1 on Netgear models) and see what the firmware version is and compare it to the latest one on Netgear's site.

If you were to change then something like the Netgear DGN1000 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-186-NG&groupid=46&catid=1595&subcat=) would do the job.

As well as what Duke has said I would also get the latest drivers for your wireless adaptor from the manufacturers website before you splash out on a new router.

yeah i have done both of that now, i guess i'll just run it for a few days and see if i have any more problems.

Cheers
