Just wondering if there's any good music playing software for windows 8, i guess with a good interface, playlist options and possibly a cool looking equalizer. Not enjoying the default windows media player

Most go for Foobar2000. I like xmplay as it supports native and old winamp plugins. So it means I can listen to old tracker music formats.

Edit: But on Linux I use Rhythmbox for mp3 and FLAC and other "mainstream" formats. I use the terminal/console based xmp for tracker formats since support is patchy in Rhythmbox, even with the right libs installed.

I just use XBMC. The above post sounds like technobabble to me so i'm probably not the best source of information.

I found Musicbee is quite popular aswell, but ill look at that aswell

MusicBee has been my choice for the last couple of years. I went through all of the others and spent a few years with Foobar but MusicBee does everything I need, looks good, is ridiculously configurable and is easier to customise.

Just reading about MusicBee and see it uses the BASS library. That's from the developers of xmplay. AIMP is another good winamp replacement, which also uses the BASS library.
