Hi there,

I've been through my collection of old wireless repeaters, access points and nothing seems to want to work properly in WDS mode. So, I need to pickup something that can connect to my home hub wirelessly to connect by BT Hub's internet connection into a load balancer.

Ethernet cable isn't an option at the moment, nor is poweline - so I'm having to bridge this wirelessly. Performance isn't a concern either.

Any recommendations for a simple wireless repeater that I can use as a pure wireless bridge?

If performance doesn’t really matter then I’ve used one of these in what they call “client” mode that acted as a reliable (but slow) wireless bridge: TP-Link TL-WA901N. About £25 from memory.

Thanks. After about 4 hours messing around with this, I just managed to get a firmware update for one of my old TP Link AC1200's and got it running in WDS mode.

Much success.

If anyone else tries creating a WDS bridge with a TP-Link Archer C50 AC1200 (V4) - once you've updated the firmware, you need to reset to defaults before the option shows up in the 2.4G and 5G menus.
