Best Wireless-N Router?

I realise this is clearly a matter of preference / brand experience, but I've been contemplating upgrading our Netgear DG834Gv1 to a Wireless-N router.

In my experience, Netgear have been a real let-down, I've had quite a few whilst at Uni and all were dreadful, but got a Linksys router later and worked flawlessly from when we bought it in February to when we left in May without being turned off once.

So, as a fairly expected consequence, I'd really like a Linksys ASDL2+ Wireless-N router, like a WAG160N, sold by OcUK :)

I checked Which? to validate this choice and as I expected, they rated it the best router from their selection, however, after reading the customer reviews, a lot of people are really disappointed with it. A bit confused, I checked (a competitors website) and got the same kind of feedback.

Conversely, the Netgear Wireless-N offering (DGN2000), whilst not apparently as popular, got really good reviews everywhere!

Ideally, I'd have gone with an Apple router, but (rather stupidly) they seem not to include an actual modem capability with their routers, so there's no real justification for buying it.

I realise generally people who leave feedback often leave poor feedback, I was just wondering what you lot use and what you think :)

ive had my dlink dr-655 for about a year now and i swear by it!, still a damned reliable router and great range too!

works sweet as a nut with virgin 50mb ;-)

I have an Airport Extreme and the damn thing flies especially on 802.11N Only 5Ghz mode. You do need 5Ghz compatible Wireless NICs though.

The latest version has dual band networks so you can run the G seperate from the N.

Bad things is the price and there is no web based management of the device.

However it has been the most reliable router I have had after going through a raft of others including Netgear, Buffalo, Belkin and Linksys.

EDIT: Missed the bit where you said that you had xDSL and thus didn't like the fact that the Airport Extreme doesn't have a modem built in. Oh well! Great if you have a separate modem (like I do - cable)
