Hello,

Currently I have a Netgear router but it's absolutely terrible. Unreliable, and lacking functions and options I would like. Anyway, what's the best router to get?

I have my 360 and my PC plugged into the router directly, my Wii connects wirelessly, my brother's 360 connects wirelessly, and my brother's laptop connects wirelessly.

So basically, I'd like a router that supports a few wireless things at once, preferably one that "gets on" with the Wii (my current one takes all kinds of faffing to get it to work) and the DS as well, which has similar problems to the Wii. It also needs to allow port triggering so I can get UT3 to work properly.

Any ideas?

I installed a Belkin 54g (F5D7632uk4A) in my friends house today, PC wired, 360 wired, Wii wireless using WPA. Not one single problem with setting it all up, which made a refreshing change.

:)

Netgear DG834GT user here, absolutely no problems at all:)

I've got 3 PC's, an xbox 360, PS3 and a Nintendo Wii and DS as well as a laptop all through it.

2 PC's and the 360 are cabled.
1 PC, PS3, DS, Wii and the laptop are all Wireless.

Never had any troubles with it :)

I use a Netgear WGR614v7 and not had any problems with it (so far, I don't have a lot of luck with routers)

Currently have:
3 PCs, 1 printer and Xbox cabled to the router
2 laptops, PS3, DS and my HTC phone on wi-fi.

That is the best in my opinion. Using the Tomato firmware currently, though all the alternatives are good too. It gives it the features and performance of (almost) a professional router for £40. You can't go wrong!
What dbmzk1 said :) I've been using the WRT54GL and a Wii without problems for ages now.

The QoS in Tomato seems very good - even better than dd-wrt's implementation - so you can prioritise, for example, your XBox Live traffic over bit torrent or http traffic. I also really like the realtime bandwidth stats :)

In fact, the only thing I've not worked out how to do in Tomato that I could do in dd-wrt is to set up multiple SSIDs so that I can have a locked-down SSID for my LAN and a less secure one for my nipper's DS (which isn't WPA-compatible). But, I've not really looked into whether it's possible in Tomato yet.

i have a Netgear DG834GT that was free from sky and its been fine, 2 pcs wireless, 360 and old xbox(media center) wired, wii wireless and a laptop wireless.
