Well, if you want so good it's illegally powerful (not that I would recommend anything illegal).

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-052-LS with the SVEASoft Talisman firmware upgrade (£10) will transmit at in excess of 250mW (it comes set to 30mW and anything over 84mW tends to annoy the neighbours;)) and it also allows oodles of features you often have to pay a fortune for eg. bridging, proper firewall etc.

Sorry to hijack...

A: I dont really get why it would annoy the neighbours? Would it interfere with stuff in their house? (sorry for being a dullard)

B: By Open Source, does it mean it's overly complicated to set up? Will it work out of the box for someone who doesn't really get stuff like this?

A: Yes it would probably interfere will neighbours stuff (especially wireless internet)

B: No, will not be complicated to setup, will work out of the box no problem

Draytek routers.
Probably only average for actual wireless performance, but AFAIK they are the only reasonably priced routers that can selectively limit bandwidth.

Quite a lot of stuff works on 2.4GHz (DECT phones amongst others) and I found that if I turned up my router to 11 (so to speak) telephones ceased to work, my next door neighbour had crackling sounds on their telephones and all they could see on their WiFi were my access points (oh-oh! - Bit of a giveaway:rolleyes:) and as they knew I was running a WiFi WAN (Locust) they popped round to ask WTF I was doing.

Not at all - it's just like any other wireless router, it's just that they actively encourage you to mess with it (at your own risk).
