What is the best package for webdesign?

I can work my way though HTML to get a basic website, but this is time consumming. I tried frontpage but the end result is crap :D , I have tried Dreamweaver which is really good but can be quite heavy, are they any better ones?

I always wanted to do a simple web site but found dreamweaver a bit over my head and tried wysiwyg and found it pretty good for a simple site. Did below the other day which was the fisrt time i've used it.

I still rate FrontPage 2003.
My main site was originally done in FrontPage 2003 and is 100% HTML 4.01 & CSS complient.
The split screen allows me to WYSIWYG for the basic layout and it also allows me to see the code and edit it directly if I so desire.

However that is just my opinion on the package.

That's not really a huge achievement though; the real challenge is a WYSIWYG package that produces XHTML compliant code.

Sorry to stray slightly from the topic, but I'd also recommend you code your HTML and CSS by hand if you're a beginner. It's generally better practise, produces much better code, and gives you a far finer degree of control over what you're designing.
